Roofing services in Indiana

While leaks can seem obvious on the inside, often it is unclear exactly where the leak is starting on your actual roof. A professional roof inspection is generally your best, and safest, bet for finding and fixing the leak.

Your roof is generally a silent hero. It simply does its job of protecting your home from the elements without requiring constant maintenance. However, everything eventually fails and because our roofs tend to be out of mind, all too often we notice the problems when they are too late.

That's why it's a good idea to catch these small issues early. By having a qualified team of experienced professionals examine your roof you can catch potentially major problems while they are still easy (and inexpensive) to fix. Luckily, Richmond Exteriors has just such a team.

If you have bigger needs like roof replacement or a new roof installation we can help you with that too. Give us a call at 1-844-464-6977 or contact us online to schedule your free estimate for any of our roof services in Greater Indianapolis.

Comprehensive whole roof inspections

It's easy to think of your roof as a singular object made out of shingles. However, a roof is actually a complete system of multiple interdependent elements. An inspector that only pays attention to the shingles themselves may easily fail to notice other issues that are developing in related systems. Here at Richmond Exteriors you can always count on us to inspect everything.

Richmond Exteriors always makes sure to inspect the following elements:

  • Gutters and downspouts: Basements can flood and exterior details can be damaged if gutters and downspouts don't move water off the roof and away from the house foundation. Prevent this problem by making sure your gutters are free of clogs, your downspouts are connected securely, and any long gutter runs are pitched properly to minimize overflows.
  • Roof flashing: We will always check the flashing around chimneys, vent stacks and skylights, as well as step and valley flashing.
  • Skylights: During a roof inspection, it's also smart to inspect the glazing seals between the skylight glass and the aluminum glazing bars. Leaks in these areas can often be repaired with a special sealant.
  • Roof ventilation: Soffit vents and ridge vents rarely require maintenance or repair, but gable vents can give insects and rodents access to your attic if they are not properly screened. These vents may need to be inspected from inside your attic as well as from the house exterior.

Give your home a new look with a new roof

While rooves are generally not replaced until they begin to fail or noticeably show their age, there are some non-functional reasons to consider a roof replacement. Most notably a roof replacement can play a major part in freshening up your home's appearance. Your roof is after all one of the largest visible exterior parts of your home. As experienced, professional Indiana roofing contractors, we can help you decide if roof replacement or installation makes sense for your needs and budget.

Whether you are considering a roof replacement for aesthetic reasons or simply to replace an old roof or broken tiles there are some exciting developments in the industry. Most notably there are a variety of exciting new roofing materials available – like composite shingles that look like old-fashioned roofing slates but are made from recycled rubber. Modern asphalt-fiberglass shingles have never looked better – especially the architectural grades that show off extra depth and texture.

IKO is a family-owned company that is committed to manufacturing quality residential and commercial roofing products since 1951, with the company motto "Setting the Standard" to embody the quality, durability, and innovation they do every day.

IKO Roofing Shingles

For beautiful protection that’s engineered to last, IKO roofing shingles set the standard. You’ll find the perfect roofing shingles for your home in one of IKO’s three collections: Architectural, Premium Designer or Traditional 3-Tab.

Traditional 3-Tab

Traditional 3-tab shingles remain a popular choice for homeowners looking for affordable weather protection and a huge selection of beautiful colors to complement their home.

IKO's architectural shingles are the most popular choice. They are available in a wide array of patented color blends and their high profile and dimensional thickness will enhance the look of any style home. Cambridge roofing shingles have one of the heaviest mats for superior weather protection.

Premium Designer

Premium Designer shingles offer the ultimate in weather protection and provide the look of natural slate tiles or cedar shakes without the maintenance.

Headquartered in Valley Forge, PA, CertainTeed is a leading North American manufacturer of building materials and specializes in the production of high quality roofing and other materials including vinyl siding, trim, fence, railing, decking, insulation, gypsum, and ceiling products.

CertainTeed Asphalt Shingles

CertainTeed manufactures a variety of high quality, durable asphalt roofing systems. Asphalt roofing shingles are the most commonly used covering on residential properties in the market. Asphalt’s primary purpose in roofing shingles is to serve as a waterproofing agent.  Asphalt also holds the granules in place and adds to the overall strength of the roofing shingle. The best asphalt will stay flexible and will not dry out or become hard or brittle for the expected life of the roofing shingle.

Strip Asphalt Roofing Shingles

Strip asphalt roofing shingles are single-layered asphalt roofing shingles typically designed to look like slate.  Strip roofing shingles are usually the lightest weight asphalt roofing shingles available in the market.  Built on a tough fiberglass base, each shingle provides resistance to blow-off and tearing.

Dimensional Asphalt Roofing Shingles

Dimensional asphalt roofing shingles are manufactured as multi-layered products and provide a thicker and richer appearance on the roof (a multi-dimensional look).  Dimensional roofing shingles typically are heavier weight than strip roofing shingles and usually have improved warranty protections, which can range from 30-years to Lifetime.

Premium Asphalt Roofing Shingles

Premium asphalt roofing shingles are usually described as laminated shingles that have a differentiated appearance or functionality from traditional dimensional asphalt roofing shingles.  These products may have designs that mimic “old-world” roofing shingles, like natural slate or natural shake roofing shingles.  CertainTeed’s Grand Manor™, Presidential Shake™ and Centennial Slate™ shingles are prime examples of premium roofing shingles that provide an enhanced aesthetic appeal.

Owens Corning has been the leading manufacturer of fiberglass products since 1938. Owens Corning is an industry leader for residential and commercial building products, including insulation and shingles, as well as producer of glass-fiber reinforcement products and engineered materials for composite systems.
